Gino Farfán, special envoy to Las Vegas, reports that the new edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has been centered on artificial intelligence. However, the event has also showcased a wide range of technologies, including the debut of a flying car by the Asian brand XPENG.
The eVOLT Flying car, presented by XPENG, is a luxury vehicle that can ascend for a short distance to avoid obstacles when in flight mode, deploying its propellers. While the vehicle presented at CES was a prototype, the company’s CEO, He Xiaopeng, announced plans to make it available on the market soon. Each prototype is expected to be priced at around one million yuan, approximately $140,500, with orders anticipated to begin in the second half of 2025.
Although the CES demonstration did not involve the actual flight of the car, attendees were able to witness the elegant transformation of the car as it displayed its wings and propellers. In its air version, the eVOLT Flying car will function as a low-altitude electric plane, offering both autonomous and manual driving capabilities, as well as a 270-degree panoramic cabin for two people.
