The transaction between Azimut and Epic announced on 8 February was finalized, which initiates operations of the newco Azimut Direct, the Azimut group fintech active in the field of credit brokerage and securities-based crowdfunding reserved for qualified investors.
Azimut Direct, of which Azimut holds 50.1% and Epic 49.9%, capitalizes on the experience of Epic, the first fintech platform created in 2014 to form a bridge between SMEs and professional investors. Through Azimut Direct, the Azimut group accelerates the Banca Sintetica project, with the strategic objective of creating a broad ecosystem to support the Italian economy that allows funds and other professional savings investors to get to know, select and finance the most deserving SMEs.
Through the Banca Sintetica project, as an alternative to traditional financing channels for businesses, Azimut has already provided loans to Italian SMEs for over 450 million euros with an overall target of 1.2 billion by 2025.
