by admin

Beretta Defense Technologies (BTD, defense division of Beretta Holding) has signed an agreement with the armed forces of Finland. In particular, with the Finnish Sako Ltd (a company of the BTD galaxy together with the Italian Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta, Benelli and the German Steiner) and the Northern European State Defense, they concluded a contract for the purchase of a new rifle platform: the M23, semi-automatic with 7.62 Nato caliber which is based on the already widely used AR10. The agreement has a value of approximately 10 million euros and provides for the supply of a double configuration of the “Rifle System M32”. One in the “Sniper Rifle 23” configuration for use as a “sniper”, the other in the “Designated Marksman Rifle 23” mode for supporting the infantry by sharpshooters. The contract includes accessories, spare parts, maintenance equipment, as well as user training and maintenance provided by BDT through Sako.

Beretta Defense Technologies guarantees to all its partners the sharing of technology know-how to establish the development of local productions as in this case, thus improving the security of supply in Finland and promoting the maintenance of skills, technologies and maintenance in the State itself. The armament will be handed over to the Finnish army at the end of the year. The contract also includes an additional procurement option for any subsequent procurement. At the end of 2021, Beretta Defense Techonologies was awarded the supply of 159 thousand APX pistols to the Brazilian Ministry of Justice through the Pietro Beretta Arms Factory in Gardone Val Trompia.
