Boutique Italia sets course for green investments

by admin

An investment fund promotes sustainability, and generally supports the evolution of companies towards the markets of tomorrow. It is called Boutique Italia, a company founded in 2019 as a holding of minority shareholdings with the aim of accompanying the acquired companies in a path aimed at landing on the stock market. The social change driven by the ecological transition, the energy change and the terrible phenomenon of the epidemic was an opportunity for Boutique Italia to reflect on its business model: the shareholders decided to enrich the advisory board with heterogeneous figures to expand the range of investment targets, with a view to diversification and risk weighting.

New contributions

For this reason, the chairman Filippo Chizzolini and the managing director Enrico Carnevali were joined on the board by Massimo Massimilla (Albemarle Asset Management Ltd), Aldo Maccari (professional and investor with international experience) and Paolo Pescetto (among other things he founded a group of companies active in acquisitions, IPOs and private equity), which will make a creative contribution. Boutique Italia also counts Italian and foreign entrepreneurial families and institutional investors such as Banca Patrimoni Sella and Method Investments among its shareholders.

Chairman Chizzolini describes the company as follows after the entry of the new contributors: «A club deal with on-call investments presented by three standing advisors whose remuneration is based on the results obtained in the exit phase; this policy encourages careful screening of investment transactions with a view to transparency aimed at combating possible conflicts of interest between the advisors, the board of directors and the shareholders “.

The excellence in which to invest

The CEO Carnevali adds: «Italy has an even more significant primacy: that in the manufacturing sector. A country that produces and exports a lot, realizing a manufacturing surplus in the trade balance that brings us to fifth place in the world, after Japan, South Korea, Germany and China ». The examples dear to Carnevali are in the furniture and furnishing sector, notoriously among the major Italian excellences recognized abroad (with 9 billion surplus the Italian furniture wood industry is second in the world for balance of trade, preceded only from China). “There is also another somewhat hidden record, which is rarely spoken of: that in the machinery sector. Machines of all types, from those for the distribution of drinks and food products, to those for agriculture, for packaging, for working wood. Here we have produced 59.5 billion dollars of surplus in the trade balance », warns the CEO.

Growing up in ecology

Carnevali concludes: «Finally, there are two“ hidden talents ”, or certainly little known. It is often thought that Italian cities are full of waste and it is said that the green economy is not our thing. Italy is the European leader in industrial recycling: in the last year 47 million tons of non-hazardous waste were recovered and recycled, the absolute highest value of all European countries. Another of our primacy in Europe is that achieved in the efficiency of energy and emissions, with 107 tons of CO2 equivalent per million euro produced. We are also first in the world for the contribution of photovoltaics to the national energy mix. In short, many great specializations that make our country absolutely competitive and innovative ».
