The African Development Bank (Afdb) Group will officially open its office for the Central Africa region in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on Friday 12 April.
The inauguration comes almost five years after the signing of the agreement establishing the headquarters signed in July 2019 between Cameroon and the AfDB.
Yaoundé is now one of the financial institution’s five regional offices in Africa and will cover 7 countries: Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Chad.
The opening of a regional office in Central Africa is part of the AfDB’s desire to strengthen its strategy in the sub-region and improve the efficiency of its operations.
The bank’s portfolio in the region includes nearly 600 deals with a total value of $10.2 billion.
