All four candidates for the presidency of Confindustria – Edoardo Garrone, Emanuele Orsini, Alberto Marenghi and Antonio Gozzi – have exceeded the 10% threshold of preferences, required by the Statute to compete for election to the presidency. The commission of wise men makes this known.
Among the candidates, Edoardo Garronepresident of ERG and de The sun 24 hours, “has also certified that it has a consensus that exceeds 20% of the total votes currently regularly exercisable in the confederal assembly”. This condition – the wise men recall – determines “by right” his participation to the “designation vote” on April 4th. Garrone therefore goes directly to the final, on April 4th when the 182 members of the General Council will vote for the succession to Carlo Bonomi.
The other favorite suitor is Emanuele Orsini, vice-president of Confindustria with responsibility for Credit, who has already received the endorsement of the credit sector through the CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, Carlo Messina, with whom he worked closely during the Bonomi presidency.
Orsini, together with the other two candidates, the other vice president and Alberto Marenghi and the president of Federacciai Antonio Gozzi, must be validated by the essay commission which, after having ascertained their satisfaction, will pass them on to the final. (Teleborsa)
