The weekly price of gasoline has risen to 1,671 euros. The maximum reached in seven years now. It was 2014, the cost per liter touched 1.681 euros. According to data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, diesel fuel stands at 1,517 euros, the maximum value since May 27, 2019, when it has slightly exceeded the fifty euro.
A figure that has aroused the concern of the National Consumers Union: «The Government must intervene not only on electricity and gas – comments President Massimo Dona – but also on expensive gasoline, reducing excise duties on fuels. Otherwise these three items risk causing inflation to skyrocket with repercussions on the purchasing power of families and, consequently, on consumption ».
According to the association’s findings, a full 50-liter tank has increased by 11 euros and 46 cents since the beginning of the year. The complete refilling of a diesel car has undergone a recharge of almost ten euros. «Since the beginning of the year – continues Dona – this is an increase of 15.9% and 15% based on the fuel considered. On an annual basis it is a sting of 275 euros for petrol cars and 237 euros for diesel ”. The price increase would be greater if the month of September 2020 is taken as a starting point: “From the survey of 21 September 2020, when gasoline was equal to 1,389 euros per liter and diesel fuel to 1,267 euros per liter, a 50-liter tank costs 14 euros and 10 cents more for petrol and 12 euros and 46 cents more for diesel. An increase of 20.3% and 19.7%. From one year to the next it is an increase of 338 euros per year for petrol and 299 euros for diesel ”.
