[New Tang Dynasty News, August 23, 2021, Beijing time]The Chinese Communist Party has promoted the “national advancement of the people retreat”, and has continuously increased its purge and control of private enterprise giants. According to foreign media, Didi Chuxing, an online car-hailing company that has been severely suppressed for listing in the United States, may be forced to give the government a golden share with special rights.

The Financial Times recently quoted sources as saying that Didi may be required to give the government shares with special rights to allow the authorities to exercise stricter control over the company.

According to sources, as early as April this year, a government think tank suggested that “companies that are very important to the public” should be given to the government’s golden shares. The authorities now seem to want to move in this direction.

People familiar with the matter said that Didi investors are very concerned that the company may be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange. But Didi denied earlier that it would delist in the United States.

Reuters also previously reported that the Chinese Communist Party’s regulatory authorities intend to require Chinese companies that have a large amount of personal data, if they want to go public in the United States, they need to submit the relevant data to a government-backed third-party data security company for management and supervision. Prior to this, the authorities withdrew the approval power for Chinese companies to go overseas for listing.

“Didi Chuxing” went public in the United States in June this year. It was immediately suppressed by the Chinese Communist Party and was required to suspend the registration of new users. After that, almost all applications were forced to be removed.

In addition to Didi Chuxing, several Internet technology giants have also been purged by the authorities. Analysis believes that the CCP may take the opportunity to rob private enterprise assets and regain control of technology companies.
