It is a worldly relay that Turin is demonstrating to face with the right attitude and without hinting at any sense of satiety. The hangover from big events is not over yet, there is the International Festival of Economics which starts today until June 4th, and the city is changing its skin once again. In addition to the symbolic locations of the city economy – from the Intesa skyscraper to the Bank of Italy headquarters – and other iconic places as the venue for the meetings, some of the most beautiful squares in the center have also been chosen: public areas that become a place for discussion , discussion and prestigious lecture venues with exceptional teachers. In these hours, the construction work has already started in different areas of the center, from Piazza Carignano to Cavallerizza passing through Piazza Carlo Alberto, where every day of the Festival there will be connections with Rai Radio 1, Rai Radio 3 and Rainews24 from the stations set up for the occasion and then a large outdoor library with titles dedicated to the themes of the festival. In the courtyard of the Museo del Risorgimento an exhibition was also organized with photographs of the Neighborhood Houses, a peculiarity that refers to the importance of “social Turin”.

The glance will be remarkable. The capital lends itself willingly to this type of event, it is not for nothing that the organizers have defined it “the perfect city for the Festival” also thanks to the possibility “to concentrate events in an area where it is possible to move easily on foot, the ease of connections and an extremely varied offer in terms of hospitality ». But the Festival is also spread beyond the courtly places with the involvement of important areas such as Porta Palazzo and in particular Combo. “The city is set up in green colors. We hope to involve about 50 thousand people in these Festival days, that is, reaching 90% of the events.
Obviously this is the zero edition – says Pietro Garibaldi, coordinator of Tolc, the Turin local committee that collaborated in the realization of the program – but we are very confident ».
It starts with the preview dedicated to schools, a symbolic inauguration to underline the importance of training with the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi. It will be the arrival of a long process with the awarding of the EconoMia competition aimed at secondary school in which more than 500 students participated. Among the related initiatives, the University’s Department of Management is organizing the first Business Economics Forum, an occasion in which companies, organizations and teachers will share with citizens reflections on issues related to the Festival itself: respect, merit, diversity and social innovation. “It is the beginning of a long journey (the Festival will remain in Piedmont for 5 years ed) all the local committee – concludes Garibaldi – is excited and confident that the Turinese are attentive to the importance of this great collective experience of dissemination and learning in economic terms “. – © breaking latest news
