Eni and CNR have signed the renewal of the framework agreement for collaboration in research and technological innovation for a duration of three years plus two optional years. The agreement, signed today by the president of the National Research Council (CNR), Maria Chiara Carrozza, and by the CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, provides for the development of projects and initiatives to address the challenges of the energy transition through identification of some strategic development sectors such as operational excellence, or the identification of key technologies for resource development, decarbonisation, energy saving, circular economy and sustainability in processes linked to local community development.
The collaboration between Eni and the CNR was born in 2009 and over the years has led to innovative solutions in various fields, including solar energy, phyto-purification of contaminated water and soils and the reuse of CO2, with the about 24 patents for proprietary technologies.
