Eni goes to look for the sun in Greece

by admin

The Italian group Eni goes to look for the sun in Greece. Through the company Eni gas and light, it acquired the company Solar Konzept Greece from Solar Konzept International whose majority stake is held by Aquila Capital, a sustainable investment and asset development company, based in Hamburg (Germany). SKGR owns a platform for the development of photovoltaic plants in Greece and its plant portfolio includes projects for approximately 800 MW, which will form the basis for the further development of the renewable energy portfolio in the country.
Eni gas e luce has been present in the Greek retail energy market since 2000 and currently has around 500,000 customers. The transaction represents Eni’s entry into the Greek renewables market and is part of the growth plan and the related integration with the retail business. The company thus continues its path towards leadership in the production and sale of decarbonised products.
Eni gas and electricity at the end of 2021 has a portfolio of 1.2 GW of renewable capacity in operation, with the aim of reaching over 6 GW installed by 2025 and over 15 GW by 2030.
