At all car shows there is always a new model on display which is designated by industry insiders as the star of the show. At Beijing 2024, the beauty and originality of the Fang Cheng Super 9 supercar created by the head of style of the BYD brand Wolfgang Egger did not go unnoticed. There are many cultural references that connect to the models created by Egger in his past experiences in brands such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Audi and Lamborghini. To which is added, then, the intense collaboration with Walter de Silva in the years in which the Italian designer was responsible for the style of the Volkswagen group brands.
The Super 9 created to celebrate 30 years since the foundation of BYD, after debuting in a concept version, was presented again as a series model at the Beijing motor show and is now ready for final production. Made entirely of carbon, the Super 9 is a futuristic two-seater boat, with highly refined but non-invasive aerodynamics. What did not go unnoticed were details such as the double lights that recall the logo of the Fang Cheng brand which is owned by BYD, while the number 30 on the sides is the ideal connection with the anniversary of the Dragon giant
