Enit accelerates on golf ahead of Ryder Cup 2023 in Rome

Tourism objective linked to golf. Italy and Rome – reads an Enit note – are ready to host the next international appointment of the IGTM in 2022 – or the International golf travel market (www.igtmarket.com) – in view of the Ryder Cup scheduled for 2023 in Rome. In Italy there are 90,229 golfers in the 386 golf courses (of which 140 at least 18 holes); 104 Golf Clubs are defined by the FIG (Italian Golf Federation) with a tourist vocation. Golf, however, is still in 5th place among the sports marketed on international markets as regards the intermediation of tourist flows to Italy (14.4%) after cycling (36.1%), skiing (25.8% ), trekking (24.7%) and football. Attendance linked to golf tourism is estimated at 1.8 million, (3.9 million presences considering those who stayed in Italy for other reasons but played golf during the holiday).
