The “Beauty of Taiwan” 2024 European Tour Exhibition kicked off in Hamburg, Germany on April 27, 2024, showcasing the artistic talents of Taiwanese artists. The event was held at the Taiwan Office of the Republic of China and was attended by prominent figures such as Chen Qishun, Director of the Hamburg Office, and Lin Wanrui, President of the European Taiwan Chamber of Commerce (ETCC).

During the event, Chen Qishun expressed gratitude to Taiwanese expatriates for their contribution to promoting public diplomacy and enhancing Taiwan’s visibility in Germany. He highlighted the close relationship between Taiwan and Europe, emphasizing their shared values and commitment to international economic and trade norms.

Cai Mengru, President of the German Taiwan Chamber of Commerce (GTCC), also thanked chamber members for their participation in the event. He noted that the 30th anniversary of the ETCC was a symbol of unity and vitality, and looked forward to continued collaboration in the future.

Lin Wanrui, who came from the Netherlands to attend the exhibition, shared innovative initiatives undertaken by the ETCC, including a talent recruitment program to connect Taiwanese students and professionals with opportunities in Europe. He also mentioned plans for Taiwanese semiconductor-related industries to set up factories in Europe, further strengthening economic ties between the regions.

Su Huanhao, director of the California non-profit organization “Formosa Art and Technology Museum” (FATM), curated the artwork displayed at the exhibition. He highlighted the dedication of Taiwanese artists, who have been creating for many years and whose works will be showcased in various European countries as part of the tour.

Su Huanhao also shared insights on appreciating paintings and expressed his hopes for practical international exchanges through cultural activities. He emphasized the importance of injecting different elements into European Taiwanese through collaborations like the ETCC touring exhibition.

The “Beauty of Taiwan” exhibition in Hamburg was a testament to the rich artistic heritage of Taiwan and the strong cultural connections between Taiwan and Europe. The event garnered support from various chamber members and officials, showcasing the power of art in fostering international relationships.
