(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor Plus) – Milan, 04 Apr – The EU Committee of Regions, the institution that brings together European regions and cities, has set up a platform to connect the regions that – for geographical reasons – are enduring more charged with the reception of refugees with those of other EU member states who have the possibility to help. On the platform accessible from the Committee’s website, the regions will be able to indicate their willingness to offer housing, humanitarian aid or the possibility of offering work to refugees. The Committee has been monitoring the situation in Ukraine since 2015, following the Russian invasion of Crimea. More than a month after the outbreak of the war, what is required by those who are facing the emergency on the ground is the establishment of a long-term situation management mechanism.
