According to Eurostat in March, retail sales rose 2.7% on a monthly basis after + 4.2% in February (revised figure from + 3%). The figure exceeds the expectations of analysts who indicated a more contained increase, or by 1.5%.
On an annual basis, retail sales also recorded an increase of 12% in this case after the -1.5% of the previous month (revised from -2.9%), higher than the consensus (+ 9.6%).
