In principle, there is not much to criticize about this announcement, in my opinion it just comes too late and is uncoordinated with similar joint initiatives from the EU and the G7. Financial planning security is of course important for Ukraine, but more than financial declarations of intent from its allies, it now needs more weapons. Stoltenberg’s proposal is certainly not a strategic game changer.
