Ford has unveiled the new generation of Ranger Raptor, the best-selling version of the Blue Oval pick-up. Equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine delivering 288hp and 491Nm of torque, the second generation of Ranger Raptor raises the bar of performance by revealing itself to be a pick-up for true enthusiasts and offers a new level of performance both on and off-road. Developed by Ford Performance, it features smarter technology that controls the next generation stiffer structure to create the most advanced Ranger ever. The new powertrain offers effortless acceleration over gravel, dirt, mud and sand. Combined with this performance, an electronically controlled active exhaust system amplifies the sound of the engine thanks to four selectable modes, which allow it to be adapted according to the situation. Drivers can choose the “sound” of the engine by pressing a button on the steering wheel or by selecting a driving mode that uses one of the Quiet, Normal, Sport and Baja settings, the most extreme profile in terms of both volume and sound, designed for the for off-road use only. The current 2.0-liter EcoBlue twin-turbo Diesel engine will continue to be available for the next-generation Ranger Raptor starting in 2023, with more details available nearing launch. Raptor is the first model in the Ranger next-generation range to be launched in Europe, with customer deliveries expected starting in the last quarter of 2022.
