Ford of Britain is “challenging” the population of Fordwich, the smallest city in the UK, to go electric with the launch of the Mustang Mach-E, the electric SUV of the Blue Oval, after a search (1 ) showed that the majority of those living in rural areas (82%), small towns (79%) and towns (76%) would not feel safe buying an electric car as their next vehicle if the a ban on petrol and diesel cars was declared next week. From today until Sunday, all 380 Fordwich residents – never was a more appropriate name – will be among the first to try the Mustang Mach-E by taking part in an exclusive three-day test drive, which will take place in the Kent countryside. Additionally, other research highlights from Ford’s Go Electric consumer report reveal a notable lack of confidence and information about electric vehicles, particularly in rural areas and small towns such as Fordwich. Only 55% of those living in small towns, villages / towns and in the countryside believe they have enough information to make an informed decision about buying an electric vehicle compared to 85% of those living in cities, areas urban and metropolis. With the move to electrification ever more imminent, Ford recognizes the need to take consumers on a new all-electric path and hopes to inspire confidence by putting Fordwists behind the wheel of the Mustang Mach-E so they can try it for themselves. To encourage Fordwich residents to switch to electric in the long run, the Blue Oval has also partnered with British Gas to install a public charging point in the city. Recharging is often cited as a major concern, a real obstacle to the purchase of an electric vehicle, especially for those who live in small towns (63%) and in the countryside (74%) who say they do not have enough charging stations available. The charging point will be located at The Fordwich Arms, a local pub, and will be available to residents from today. (ITALPRESS). tvi / com 21-May-21 17:31
