Another downward acceleration for Piazza Affari after US inflation beyond expectations (+ 8.6% yoy in May, new highs at over 40 years) which feeds fears of a more aggressive Fed on the rate front. The Ftse Mib marks -4.6% to 22,684 points with investors who are penalizing Italian equities following the widening of the BTP / Bund spread thanks to the anti-spread shield issue. Yesterday, the ECB did not detail how it intends to counter any excessive fragmentation.

Among the individual stocks, the 12% collapse of Bper stands out on the day of the presentation of the new plan. Banks are generally very bad thanks to the spread risk: -9% Banco BPM, -7.1% Unicredit and -6.3% Intesa.
