Generali confirms the strong profitability of the group, with premiums, operating income and profits on the rise. In detail, the Trieste insurance group closed the first half of 2021 with an operating result of € 3 billion (+ 10.4%), thanks to the positive development of the Life, Asset Management and Holding segments and other activities, while net profit almost doubled to 1.54 billion against 774 million last year. The Bloomberg consensus indicated net income of 1.42 billion and operating income of 2.92 billion. As of June 30, gross premiums increased by 5.5% to 38 billion, thanks to the positive trends in the Life (+ 5.8%) and Non-Life (+ 4.9%) segments. With the Combined Ratio essentially stable at 89.7% (+0.2 pp) and the Solvency Ratio which is confirmed to be extremely solid at 231% against 224% in 2020).
The group – reads the note – is fully in line with the objectives of the year and to successfully complete the “Generali 2021” strategic plan.
