Offices, luxury residences, spaces for sports, park. And above all the sea that is once again the protagonist. The mega-project of the Levante waterfront in Genoa, designed by Renzo Piano as the major urban transformation operation in the city since 1992, becomes concrete. A development that sees private investors and the public sector side by side to give a new and modern face to a an area of the city that has been abandoned and degraded for years.
In all, an investment of 350 million, of which about 250 million coming from the consortium formed by Cds holding and Orion, the private investors who won the tender, the rest falling within the competence of the public sector.
The objective of the masterplan designed by Renzo Piano, as well as all the real estate development, is first and foremost “to bring the sea back to the city, with a new marina and canals that allow you to enjoy the presence of water” says the councilor for the Budget and Public Works of the Municipality of Genoa, Pietro Piciocchi.
The overall project will be finished in 2024, while residences and Palasport in 2023.
“The entire development involves the construction of high-level residences, in all 240 apartments, in two buildings overlooking the water, characterized by windows and transparency – says Massimo Moretti, general manager of Cds holding -, about 10-15 thousand meters paintings for offices, in the Jean Nouvel pavilion, a structure for classic or perhaps hybrid hospitality and finally the redevelopment of the Palasport. Surrounding an urban park of 16 thousand square meters that will reach the border of piazzale Kennedy ». The private commitment also concerns canals and promenades which remain publicly owned.
