The GfK index on German consumer confidence improved. In March, the index marks -30.5 from -33.9 previously revised to -33.8 points. German consumer sentiment is set to improve further in March, marking the fifth consecutive month of improvement. GfK notes, “Recent falls in energy prices and reports that experts believe a recession can be avoided in Germany this year means that optimism is slowly returning.”
