ROME (ITALPRESS) – “We make the long wait that the pandemic forced us to an outpost of projects and vision for the future. The greatness of an idea is measured by what it generates and by the power with which it regenerates “. With these words Romana Liuzzo, President of the Guido Carli Foundation, opened the twelfth edition of the Prize that bears the name of the statesman and founding father of the European monetary union. He did so by illustrating the proposal – made to the world of politics and institutions – to celebrate the National Rebirth Day on 18 September: a symbolic date of the economic and social restart, six months after the Day of Remembrance of the victims of Covid, celebrated in memory of the night of the trucks along the streets of Bergamo. To open the ceremony, the exhibition – on the stage of the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditorium Parco della Musica – of the Medal of the President of the Republic, destined by the Head of State Sergio Mattarella as a representation award at the twelfth edition. It was an extraordinary edition, in a particular year, lived under the banner of “not reckless” optimism, as recalled by the new Official of the Republic Liuzzo, citing Prime Minister Mario Draghi and his appeal to the republican spirit with which we are called to build our future. Moreover, to resume the “taste of the future”. Speaking from the stage – after the initial greeting by the president of the Guido Carli Foundation – the Minister of Regional Affairs, Mariastella Gelmini who, bringing greetings and sentiments of esteem and gratitude from the government, declared: “Also in this edition the Guido Foundation Carli was able to grasp the spirit of the times, imagining a prize for solidarity and proposing the shareable project of the institution of the day of rebirth. It is thanks to men like Guido Carli and the generosity of women like Romana Liuzzo who take care of keeping it alive the memory, that upon awakening from this nightmare our country will be able to look to the future with renewed hope and confidence in its abilities “. The Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi, on the other hand, has the task of closing by bringing the final greeting of the city “in an event so important that at this moment it is even more important because we need not to lose our values. Rewarding merit and excellence means anchoring ourselves to our roots but also looking to the future with confidence “. Gianni Letta, Honorary President of the Foundation, opened the works of an edition characterized among other things by the novelties in the composition of the jury, enriched by the presence of the two new entries: Lavinia Biagiotti, CEO and president of Biagiotti Group, and Gennaro Sangiuliano, director of Tg2. He also had the task of reading the message sent by the President of the Senate, Elisabetta Casellati who spoke of “a prestigious event dedicated to the memory of one of the most authoritative and brilliant personalities of our time”. Recalling the memory of Guido Carli and thanking the President Romana Liuzzo “for not only keeping alive the memory of such an authoritative grandfather and such an esteemed person in the world, but for allowing Italians not to lose that moral heritage of which the President spoke Casellati and to propose a lesson that is still surprisingly relevant “Gianni Letta, added that” it is the year of a Europe that is finally in solidarity. It is the Europe that Guido Carli would have wanted and believed in “. It was also the exceptional edition with record numbers of winners: no less than 14. Not only economists and entrepreneurs, but personalities linked to the world of sport, dance and social solidarity. The Special Prize went to a prince of the stage, Roberto Bolle, a symbol of joy and a return to life. “Thanks to the winners and to Intesa Sanpaolo – said Bolle – for supporting culture during the year of Covid and a special thanks to Stefano Lucchini”.
