You mean takeovers like the one last year, when the US group Carrier took over Viessmann’s heating division.
Werner: Daikin had already taken over the Rotex company from Güglingen in 2008. Daikin was already doing well in Germany with prefabricated houses before the war in Ukraine. The focus has now shifted slightly towards the heat pump.

But market access is fundamentally more difficult for foreign air conditioning technology manufacturers than for those German manufacturers who have been offering oil and gas heating systems for decades. One possible route into the market is through you. Daikin, Samsung and Co. are now increasingly approaching you and saying: We want to enter the German market?
Werner: We basically look at every manufacturer because we are always looking for technical innovation. Is there anyone who can do something better that makes it easier and more efficient for our skilled trade customers and their end customers? Wholesalers have their ears close to the market, so you quickly notice: they have this new product, they have problems with it. We are interested in bringing clever products to the market.
