Heilongjiang: 100 Million Yuan Subsidy to Promote Consumption of Green Smart Home Appliances
China News Service, Harbin, May 1 (Reporter Jiang Hui) – The Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Commerce announced a new policy aimed at promoting the consumption of green smart home appliances through substantial subsidies. The “Heilongjiang Province Promotes Green Smart Home Appliances Consumption Subsidies in 2024” policy has a total subsidy fund of approximately 100 million yuan provided by the provincial finance of Heilongjiang Province. Once the funds are depleted, a policy end announcement will be issued for that year.
In an effort to boost the consumption of environmentally friendly home appliances, the province will launch the subsidy campaign in batches. The first batch of consumer subsidy activities will kick off in Harbin on May 1, 2024. Subsequent batches will follow in other cities including Qiqihar, Mudanjiang, Jiamusi, and Daqing before expanding to other cities and prefectures on May 15, 2024.
Consumers looking to take advantage of the subsidies can purchase eligible products from participating market entities and receive an immediate 10% subsidy on the transaction price, capped at 1,000 yuan. The eligible products include a range of household appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, water heaters, and more. These products must meet specific energy efficiency standards and be registered on the China Energy Efficiency or Water Efficiency Labeling Network.
Local governments are encouraged to tailor the subsidy program to their unique circumstances and provide additional support for the purchase of green smart home appliances. By leveraging various methods such as financial incentives, merchant concessions, and platform contributions, the aim is to create a synergy that boosts home appliance consumption in Heilongjiang Province.
The initiative is not only expected to benefit consumers by making environmentally friendly appliances more accessible, but it also aims to contribute to the overall improvement and expansion of home appliance consumption in the province.
