Honda, like other global automakers, has announced a $ 40 billion strategic plan to electrify the range. The goal is to achieve production of 2 million 100% battery-powered vehicles by 2030.
The latest announcement is based on a series of steps that Honda number one, Toshihiro Mibe, is taking to join the lineup of completely gasoline-free automakers by 2040.
Thirty electric vehicles by 2030
Honda, in the midst of a radical corporate overhaul, said it will invest 5 trillion yen ($ 39.91 billion) over the next ten years of electrification as it will deploy 30 fully electric vehicles globally and build production capacity for 2 million electric vehicles per year by 2030.
It is part of the new software-defined EV platform, dubbed e: Architecture, which the company will launch in 2026 to support Honda’s next generation of large battery electric cars.
