Iconic American Supermarket Chain Declares Bankruptcy and Closes All Stores

One of the most famous supermarket chains in the United States, Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market, unexpectedly declared bankruptcy and closed all its stores in the country. The company had merged five months ago to create Outfox Hospitality in an effort to overcome financial difficulties. However, on Tuesday, April 23, the chain announced the closure of all its stores.

This decision adds Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market to a growing list of companies in the US that have faced financial challenges, including WeWork, Rite Aid, Bed Bath & Beyond, Tuesday Morning, Party City, SmileDirectClub, and Lordstown Motors.

“Outfox Hospitality, the combined company of the two Chicago-based entities, files for Chapter 7 bankruptcy,” reported Eater Chicago, Vox Media’s food website. In a statement posted on their X account, the company expressed regret over the decision to close their doors, stating that they explored various options but did not find any viable solutions.

The company acknowledged the impact this closure would have on their loyal customers and team members, expressing gratitude for their support over the years. They also thanked all team members and customers for choosing them for their purchases. The news may come as a shock to many, and the company apologized for any inconvenience caused.
