One of the most famous supermarket chains in the United States, Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market, unexpectedly declared bankruptcy and closed all its stores in the country. The company had merged five months ago to create Outfox Hospitality in an effort to overcome financial difficulties. However, on Tuesday, April 23, the chain announced the closure of all its stores.

“Outfox Hospitality, the combined company of the two Chicago-based entities, files for Chapter 7 bankruptcy,” reported Eater Chicago, Vox Media’s food website. In a statement posted on their X account, the company expressed regret over the decision to close their doors, stating that they explored various options but did not find any viable solutions.
