IHOP Announces “National Pancake Day” Celebration to Support Puerto Rico Children’s Foundation

Tomorrow, February 13, IHOP will be celebrating “National Pancake Day” by offering free buttermilk pancakes to customers all day at all of its establishments. This initiative is not only a treat for pancake lovers, but also a way to support the non-profit organization Children’s Foundation of Puerto Rico.

The Children’s Foundation of Puerto Rico provides funding for medical services and treatments for over 1,500 active patients, including both children and young people from families with limited resources in Puerto Rico. “This event will help us raise vital funds to continue offering medical services and treatments to children and youth in Puerto Rico who would not otherwise have access to them,” said Stephanie Moore, CEO of the foundation.

To enjoy the pancakes free of charge, customers are encouraged to donate to the foundation by purchasing a paper balloon for $1 or $5. Additionally, purchasing the $5 paper balloon includes a coupon for the same amount, which can be used on a future visit to IHOP as a discount.

Humberto Rovira, president and CEO of Encanto Restaurants, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the foundation for over ten consecutive years and celebrating “National Pancake Day” with clients and associates. “We are pleased to be able to provide support to the foundation and contribute to ensuring that many Puerto Rican families have access to doctors and quality treatments for their children,” he said.

The Puerto Rico Children’s Foundation provides services to four hospitals: the San Jorge Children’s Hospital, the Puerto Rico Woman’s and Children’s Hospital in Bayamón, the Auxilio Mutuo Pediátrico, and the University Pediatric Hospital. The foundation covers all treatments not covered by the patient’s medical plan and offers educational services through its school program, with 12 certified teachers who help patients during their illness and recovery period in the hospital or at home so they can receive treatment without interrupting their education.
