In February, China’s inflation as measured by the consumer price index rose 0.9% year-on-year, in line with expectations, as in January. On a monthly basis, the increase was + 0.6%. Inflation measured by the producer price index, on the other hand, jumped on an annual basis by 8.8%, slowing the pace compared to the previous + 9.1% but exceeding the increase of 8.7% predicted by the consensus. On a monthly basis, the trend was + 0.5%.
