Enhance the patrimony informative not skills of the chamber system, adopting theOpen Innovation as a reference model, to support the digital transformation of the PA and businesses. These are the assumptions of the project promoted by Unioncamere e InfoRooms which – with the collaboration of The Doers, the Open Innovation consultancy company of Digital Magics, the leading incubator in Italy in early-stage investments in digital startups – has started an “Open Innovation” path of system which today leads to the launch of the Call “Data-Driven Innovation: Chambers of Commerce and Startups together for a Digital Italy” aimed at the world of innovative Italian startups and SMEs.
The experimentation is underway
To the center of projectwhich sees the first phase of experimentation in five Chambers of Commerce (Florence, Messina, Milan, Padua, Turin) there is the definition of two strategic themes for the chamber system (so-called “Challenge”), aimed at the selection and implementation of experiments to be carried out in each Chamber and which, in a second phase of the initiative, may evolve into operational projects.
Between July e October preliminary activities were conducted with the identification of the needs of the stakeholders involved (Chambers of Commerce and businesses), the definition of the two thematic areas on which the “Challenge” between the candidates and the setup of the tools necessary for the call, starting from the online platform for collecting applications.
Focus on digitalisation
The Call is aimed at all startups that are able to provide technologies for digitalisation e automation processes, with the aim of making both internal chamber procedures more efficient and more agile and productive, as well as those that also have external implications (Internal process automation) and/or highly innovative solutions that can contribute to improving the management of information assets, increasing the accuracy, timeliness, coherence and completeness of the data managed by the Chamber System (Intelligent Data Analysis & Management).
In this context, in the first case we are looking for technologies NLP (Natural Language Processing): Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Conversational Design, Chatbots & Virtual Assistants, Virtual testing, RPA (Robotic Process Automation). After closure from the callscheduled for February 19, 2024, a “Innovation Day” during which the best selected startups will have the opportunity to present themselves in front of the representatives of the stakeholders of the system chamber, as well as industry experts, to illustrate their projects. Each startup will have 5 minutes to present its product/service and 5 minutes to answer questions from the audience.
At the end of the call, a plan Of Co-design will allow the winners to work together with the Chambers of Commerce, Unioncamere and InfoCamere to identify services and/or products consistent with the expectations of all stakeholders. The cooperative work will lead to the concrete finalization of the design of products and/or services of the start-ups/SMEs that stood out during the Innovation day. The starting point will be the already existing services and/or products selected, to then adapt them, through the Co-design phase, to the objectives of the stakeholders.
