A slight increase in the first four months of 2021, the hires activated by private employers reached 1,715,000, with a slight increase compared to the same period of 2020 (+ 2%). This is how INPS announces that the result is due to the combination of the decline in the months of January and February 2021 (in 2020 in the corresponding months the pandemic period had not yet begun) while for the months of March and April 2021 there is a increase of 18% and 210% respectively compared to the same months of 2020.
This dynamic characterizes all types of contracts. The recovery, in the last two months, for term, seasonal and temporary hires is particularly marked. The terminations in the first four months of 2021 totaled 1,358,000. The decrease with respect to the same period of the previous year (-22%) is particularly accentuated for leasing contracts (-47%) and apprenticeship contracts (-29%); for permanent contracts in the months of January and February there is a reduction of 33%, while from March there is a reversal with an increase of 9% and 122% in April.
