Now, the Russia-Ukraine conflict which, due to its heavy effects on the cost of raw materials and energy, pushes Italy and Europe to the brink of stagflation, i.e. lack of economic growth (stagnation), accompanied by the increase in prices (inflation).

What we have before us is an unprecedented scenario that requires a serious reflection on what political and financial countermeasures can be to stimulate an economic recovery that in Europe and Italy seemed within reach until a few weeks ago, that is, before the conflict in Ukraine broke out. It arises from this need “Italy 2022: People, Work and Business: the dialogue platform promoted by PwC Italiain collaboration with the Gedi publishing groupto share ideas, develop proposals and plan actions capable of orienting Italian companies in the current international geopolitical context.

The goal is to involve the greatest exponents of the world of institutions, finance and business, listening to and treasuring, from time to time, the testimonies of entrepreneurs who have been able, creating value, to write the economic and industrial history of our country . The initiative includes eight digital meetings, during which PwC’s skills and professionals will be made available to companies and institutions to offer a real contribution in planning the future and in the interest of the new generations. Dialogues in the name of concreteness that, in this particular historical period, can represent a point of reference for Italian companies, also looking at the opportunities provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr).

ā€œThe Ukrainian crisis and the repercussions on the Italian economyā€ is the title of the first meeting scheduled for March 23, at 16:30. The event will be broadcast on all the social platforms of PwC Italia – Youtube channel PwC Italy, on the Twitter page PwC Italy, Facebook PwC Italy and Linkedin PwC Italy and on the homepage of La Stampa, La Repubblica, Huffpost and all the GNN newspapers.

The event includes speeches by Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economic Development, Francesco Merloni, entrepreneur and honorary president of Ariston Thermo Spa, Marco Fortis, director and vice-president of the Edison Foundation and professor of industrial economics and foreign trade, Maurizio Molinari, director of the newspaper La Repubblica, Giovanni Andrea Toselli, president and CEO of PwC Italia, Alessandro Grandinetti, partner PwC Italia, clients and markets leader, Barbara Ferri, partner PwC Italia, chief risk office leader, Andrea Amatuzio, partner PwC Italia, anti financial crime leader.
