Jaguar Land Rover confirms its presence in the next Formula E season

by admin

Jaguar Racing’s commitment to racing will help Jaguar Land Rover develop new sustainable technologies and set new quality standards with its partners, while supporting the rebirth of the Jaguar brand as a fully electrified luxury brand starting from 2025.

The electric single-seater project

The Formula E program will be a constituent part of Jaguar Land Rover’s Reimagine strategy, with which the company is committed to achieving several goals, including a primarily electric range by 2030, zero tailpipe emissions by 2036 and the status of Net Zero across the entire supply chain, operators and products by 2039.

The announcement of this long-term commitment comes ahead of Jaguar Racing’s first home competition in 17 years and the first Formula E race in London, with Briton Sam Bird leading the driver standings. In the 59 Formula E races, the all-electric Jaguar I-Types achieved 4 wins and 12 podiums. In the near future, as the cars compete for more points and more podiums, they will continue to be a real test bed for the development of new and avant-garde technologies. Even in the era of Gen3 cars, Jaguar Racing will continue its winning technical collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering.

What will the Gen3 be like

The new Gen3 Formula E electric cars are expected to debut in the ninth season of the Championship at the end of next year. Lighter, more powerful and more efficient, the Gen3 will represent a new benchmark in terms of fully electrified performance. In addition, they will also show all the latest developments regarding fast charging, helping to make the races that will be held in some of the most important cities in the world even more exciting. Gen3 cars will expect an increase in power up to 350kW (currently 250kW), while the maximum regenerative braking power will increase from 250kW to 600kW.
