Kintana, the startup dedicated to children learning

Morestech it is an Italian patent that can be defined as a digital nanny that combines hardware capabilities with home automation control with a mobile application”. He explains it Paolo Rigobello, General Manager of Kintana, which is the digital arm of the Pea group, leader in the world of promotional toys, which develops and produces, among other things, collectible products and projects for the major publishing groups and brands operating in large-scale international distribution. But, in the digital age, even those who have been working with physical products for 40 years think about evolving.

Pea Group, leader in the “surprise” toy sector

“We produce half a billion toys a year – explains Rigobello – which go into the hands of 200 million users with a turnover of around 50 million euros. But digital transformation is fundamental for this reason the company decided to create Kintana which is the digital arm of the Pea group which is part of the Aprile family holding. The idea is to create applications to interact with physical products. The first step is Morestech, an application created by our Research and Development division”.

The Morestech app is based on generative Ai that interacts with the child

Morestech wants to teach the best practices of the network to which digital natives have access including conscious use of social networks. The application is based on generative artificial intelligence that interacts with the child. Among the functions, making toys interactive by activating them with the camera via augmented reality.

Heart rate and temperature monitoring

While for the home automation part, the sensors dedicated to cars have been modified in collaboration with the StM research & development center in Milan. In this way it is possible to detect the heartbeat and temperature of the children via the sensors of the Morestech device and the parent can check where the children are by activating the camera. Furthermore, it is also possible to collect rewards.

IIn the future also a bracelet to be used as a credit card

“We are studying – says Rigobello – to create, in collaboration with a Fintech that operates in the credit sector, a bracelet that the child can use like a credit card for small purchases”. Kintana with its Morestech, which is basically an app that can be downloaded on any Android and iOS device and simple hardware made up of two sensors, was one of the 50 Italian start-ups selected by Ice for the Las Vegas Festival which closed on January 12th. It will be on sale in two models: the first including a small tablet which will cost around 130 euros and another version without a screen only with sensors which will have a price between 60 and 70 euros.

Target between 0 and 12 years but could also be useful for the elderly

The target of the product will be children between 0 and 12 years old, but given that it also has heart rate and body temperature monitoring functions it could also be used for elderly people. “We are also thinking about partnerships with other startups that offer telephone medical consultations – adds Rigobello who clarifies the purpose of the investment – to become a data collection app and create behavioral models for companies thanks also to the enormous potential of generative AI”.
