Logista Italia has inaugurated a new platform in Gricignano di Aversa (Caserta). This is a structure from which it will be possible to supply over 1,800 tobacconists and retailers in the provinces of Naples and Caserta with smoking and inhalation products, as well as products such as objects, lighters, food & beverage and stationery. The new hub has a total surface area of 5,669 square metres, of which over 400 are reserved for Cash&Carry. Approximately 50 people will be employed in Gricignano, including direct and indirect workers, including transporters.

Logista is the leading local retailer in Europe and serves over 200,000 stores in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium. In Italy it is located in the intermediate phase of the supply chain, interfacing upstream with the producers and, downstream, with the sales points, dealing with distribution to around 60 thousand resellers across the national territory (1,800 in Campania) thanks to a distribution network made up of 3 Hub (Tortona, Anagni and Catania) and 90 Transit Points, local service platforms, which also host corporate Cash&Carry.

Diversification in the pharmaceutical sector

For some time the company of Spanish origins has started a process of business diversification and the first step, in Italy, was marked by Logista Retail, a company specialized in the wholesale marketing of convenience products, which has reached an assortment of over 2,000 references of the best brands. In this field, Logista Retail has quickly achieved market leadership. It subsequently entered the pharmaceutical sector – with the Logista Pharma brand – thanks to the acquisition in 2023 of a company specialized in the distribution of drugs and medical devices, Gramma Farmaceutici. An investment program for the implementation of platforms has been launched.

Sustainability of structures and activities

The structure of the new Caserta Transit Point has been assessed as suitable for the Breeam certification process, which guarantees the sustainability of the buildings (the process will end in the summer). Moreover, Logista has long adopted a strategy oriented towards sustainability in various activities: from the use of renewable energy sources in 99% of its operating offices; the reuse and recycling of Logista Green Boxes, the cardboard boxes in which goods are delivered every day; the activation of an organized circuit that allows consumers to place used electronic cigarettes in special containers inside tobacconists.
