Chinaās Logistics Industry Prosperity Index Continues to Rise in April
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced today the China Logistics Industry Prosperity Index for the month of April, showing a continuous improvement in the prosperity level of the logistics industry. The index for April was 52.4%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points from the previous month.
Among the sub-indexes, the total business volume index, new order index, and equipment utilization index all saw a rebound, indicating a significant increase in logistics activity. The upstream and downstream supply chains also maintained a coordinated recovery trend, with stable growth in transportation volume of energy raw materials.
In the manufacturing industry, there was a release of logistics demand for equipment manufacturing and transportation equipment manufacturing, as well as rapid growth in logistics demand for daily fast-moving consumer goods and durable consumer goods such as furniture and home appliances. The total business volume index in the eastern and central regions rebounded by more than 1 percentage point month-on-month, while the new order index in the same regions also saw an increase of more than 0.5 percentage points.
Overall, the report indicates a steady rebound in logistics demand since April, with increased logistics activity and a further consolidation of a strong foundation for the industryās development.
