With petrol on sale now around 1.8 euros per liter and diesel fuel well over 1.6 euros per liter, not to mention CNG whose price is touching 1.9 euros / kg, LPG represents a choice. Interesting. In fact, despite having also suffered a rise in prices, in this period it costs on average € 0.834 per liter and is easily available. There are approximately 4,400 refueling facilities, of which more than 300 are on the motorway, and well distributed throughout the territory. Even if with a liter of LPG you travel on average 15% less road than that allowed by a liter of petrol, the savings remain substantial. Furthermore, LPG also offers advantages in terms of pollution because the emissions of nitrogen oxides, atmospheric particles and carbon dioxide are lower. Hence, LPG bi-fuel cars can often move freely in urban areas with limited traffic.
Installing an LPG system in the after market costs on average between 1,000 and 2,000 euros, but the market offers many cars already sold and guaranteed directly by the manufacturers. Depending on the moment, many of them are offered with purchase promotions which, in some cases, reduce the gap in the list price to a minimum with the petrol versions. Here are the ten best-selling models in Italy in 2021.
