Apple Online Store (China) – Mac
The price is slightly more expensive, with a maximum of $5,799, or about 37,000 yuan.
However, the performance is really good, let’s follow the teardown video to find out what the Mac Studio is.
2 SSD memory card slots
While dismantling, the host Yuryev sighed that Apple’s design was almost perfect. Obviously, he was very excited at the beginning.
Step 1: Unpacking
The host Yuryev gently took out the Mac Studio from the carton with both hands. It seems that this ‘small iron box’ is not only very small, but also light enough.
Step 2: Appearance display
As stunning as Apple’s other designs, this Mac Studio is also very simple and elegant, with only a few ports on the side.
Step 3: Disassemble the chassis
The host loosens the rubber ring clockwise to open the chassis.
Then, proceed to unscrewing the screws from the ground to open the chassis.
At this point, the chassis cover has been completely removed, but there are still many mechanisms, and many interfaces have to be loosened step by step.
Step 4: Take out the connecting cable
In this step, please pay attention to safety, do not directly touch the exposed things with your hands.
Step 5: Remove the cable guard
The shield is an aluminum frame, like a lampshade, and the entire bottom part acts like a shield, protecting the motherboard, which the moderator lifts carefully.
Step6: Move the controller away
There are various controllers inside, because the wires are tangled, carefully remove them.
Step7: Find 2 SSD memory card slots
Regarding the memory card, here is a hint:
The Mac Studio comes standard with 512GB of ultra-fast SSD storage with sequential read and write speeds of up to 7.4GB/S, and you can configure up to 8TB of storage for your documents, photos, music, videos and applications.
Note: Users do not have access to Mac Studio’s storage, if you think you may need more storage capacity in the future, please consider a higher configuration.
At first glance, this SSD port looks a lot like the 2019 Mac Pro, but when the presenter tried out the Mac Pro’s SSD, it clearly didn’t fit.
Interestingly, this Mac Studio has two SSD ports, which could mean that Mac Studio storage is upgradable after all.
But as moderator Yuryev pointed out, Apple’s instructions on the Mac Studio product page say that ‘users cannot access the device’s storage space’ because the RAM is integrated into Apple’s M1 Ultra chip.
Demystifying the M1 Ultra chip
When we saw the above SSD card, obviously, it is only the tip of the iceberg of this Mac Studio, and even more amazing is ‘hidden in the boudoir’.
Let’s continue to follow the host’s teardown video as we slowly demystify Mac Studio.
Step8: Disassemble other components such as fans and batteries
The design of various components is very attentive, in line with Apple’s philosophy.
Also, the fan cable.
Hey, there’s still a battery here.
Step9: Open the motherboard
As you can see from this window full of fine lines, Mac Studio’s sound quality and noise reduction are very good. (It seems to have felt it, there is wood)
Step10: M1 Ultra chip unveiled
There is an Apple logo on the MI Ultra chip, and the entire motherboard is designed to be super thin, which is simply amazing!
Today, the host Yuryev also wore a chip cultural shirt to shoot this unboxing video, which looks very matching.
Throughout the dismantling process, he was literally performing an operation on the Mac Studio.
The appearance of the M1 Ultra shows the beautiful appearance of Apple’s chips and the advanced nature of its technology. Through this core component, Apple continues to build Apple’s crazy business.
