“Made in Italy” mission in Dubai for Assolombarda, which brings companies in the Furniture & Lighting and Food & Food Processing-Equipment sectors to the Expo, the latter in collaboration also with Confindustria Lombardia, to explore new bilateral business opportunities.

The mission is a showcase for many Lombard and Italian excellences to enter and consolidate their business in extremely interesting markets such as the United Arab Emirates, a country that thanks to Expo 2020 has given a further boost to its link with innovation. The Emirates are showing openness and interest in strengthening ties and cooperation with the Italian and Lombard industrial system, centered on ingenuity and creativity.

On the program, visits and meetings that may pave the way for further collaborations in various sectors that have always been highly appreciated by the UAE market. The initiative also saw collaboration with Fiera Milano and the Lombardy Region.

Assolombarda has promoted networking opportunities between local businesses and Lombard companies that are leaders in their respective segments and characterized by innovative products and processes. Fiera Milano involved the local and international media and presented the 2023 editions of the Tuttofood events.

According to the surveys of Export Planning, the exchange between Europe and the Gulf Cooperation Countries, in all the sectors represented at HostMilano and Tuttofood, is already worth 5.9 billion euros today, which in 2025 will become 7.7, with a growth aggregate equal to 6.7%. Between Italy and the Gulf countries, trade is currently equal to 741 million euros, expected to grow up to 925.4 million in 2025. Saudi Arabia is among the most dynamic countries for trade with Europe (+7 , 8%) and the Emirates (+ 6.8%) in Food Equipment, while in Food the UAE (+ 9.2%) and Kuwait (+ 6.9%) still stand out.
