Memorandum of understanding, Veneto is trying to relaunch

To combine Italian know-how with the ability of the Chinese to innovate and penetrate international markets. A memorandum of understanding was signed by Mario Boselli, president of the Italy-China Foundation, and Vincenzo Marinese, president of Confindustria Venezia.

The agreement for the bilateral promotion of relations between Venice and China aims to facilitate the launch of industrial partnerships between the two countries. And the exchange of information is also recognized as being of strategic importance, to facilitate the resolution of critical issues related to logistics and transport. It also encourages the activation of collaborations with the service company Punto Confindustria Srl in the sector of training and exchange of know-how.

According to the elaborations of the Business Studies Center of the Italy China Foundation (CeSIF) it emerges that the value of Veneto exports to the Asian country recorded a decline of 7.96% between 2019 and 2020 (passing from almost 1, 5 billion euros to over 1.3 billion). And only the provinces of Venice (+ 28.07%) and Rovigo (+ 56.06%) grew, which exported goods respectively for over 100 million and almost 28.5 million in value. The leading sectors in Veneto were machinery, textiles, clothing, footwear, leathers and base metals. And then, in the last year, base metals and metal items, wood, paper and printing, computers, electrical and electronic appliances and chemicals.
