Growing accounts for Metro Italia, a wholesale and service chain for the Horeca sector, which in the 2022-2023 fiscal period almost reached 2 billion in turnover, 1.97 billion to be precise with a +9.4% on the previous period. Revenues growing for all sales channels while at a global level the Metro Group reached 30.6 billion in turnover, +2.7%.

On the Italian market the brand operates with 49 large sales points, 2 warehouses specialized in Food service distribution (Fsd) and around 4 thousand employees. On the supply side, 23,700 food references are sold, of which 7 thousand linked to the territory from 800 suppliers and partners, and 6,300 non-food products to around 200 thousand customers.

Among the various sales channels, Cash&Carry is worth 1.5 billion, just over three quarters of sales, up by 6.5%. Tourism and consumption outside the home caused the Food service distribution channel to grow by 17%, reaching 434 million in revenues. The growth plans of the Italian branch are focused precisely on this channel and its development, which sees sales of products with the private label (Mdd) grow by 26%, equal to 622 million achieved thanks to a product portfolio of approximately 3,500 references .
