The start of sales was repeatedly pushed back. The supporters became angry and many demanded their money back. At the end of 2021, three and a half years later, Mitte finally delivered the first models. However, the product is a slimmed down version of the original idea. The machine called “Mitte Home” filters tap water and enriches it with carbon dioxide. A combination of long-standing technologies such as those offered by Brita and Sodastream. The price was still 350 euros, and the starter kit including cartridge, CO2 cylinder and bottle currently costs around 590 euros. The items are only sold via our own online shop. And only in Germany. Customers from the USA who took part in a crowdfunding campaign there were put off until the end.
