Networking to design the Italy of tomorrow, infrastructures for the challenge of sustainability

by admin

«Fare network to design tomorrow ». This will be the theme of the third stage of the «Alphabet of the Future» tour scheduled today in Padua from 5.30 pm at the Altinate San Gaetano Cultural Center. The initiative, promoted by La Stampa and the newspapers of the GNN Group, today opens a window on the future of the world of infrastructures and mobility: the pandemic has made the need for a radical change that focuses on sustainability and attention to the environment. Now more than ever it becomes important to be able to complete this challenge. Roads, railways, city connections, ports, electricity grids and other major works. The panorama of areas in which to intervene is very broad. A big boost will come from the funds linked to the NRP, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. These will be fundamental resources that will be made available for our country in order to make our infrastructure system more modern, digital and sustainable by 2026, capable of responding to the challenge of decarbonisation indicated by the Union.and European. Transport will have to become greener while energy distribution infrastructures in the future will have to be able to manage a radically different generation system and energy flows distributed by many plants. Achieving the ambitious decarbonisation goals requires a resilient, digital and flexible distribution network to ensure both an optimized management of renewable energy production and the transition of energy consumption to the electricity carrier.

The intervention envisaged by the NRP will be aimed at increasing the degree of reliability, safety and flexibility of the national energy system, increasing the amount of energy produced from renewable sources and promoting greater electrification of consumption. The journey towards a world of more climate-conscious infrastructures has long begun but the health emergency has given a strong acceleration to this movement. The third stage of the «Alphabet of the Future» tour will be dedicated to the discovery of the changes underway and those that will materialize in the years to come.
