The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) and government authorities have announced the latest update to the mobile application for online payments, Transfermóvil. The new version, V.1.231214, brings several new features aimed at making it easier for users to make online payments on the island. One major update is the ability to open a tax account directly from the app without having to visit a bank.
To open a tax account through the Banks module in Transfermóvil, users must follow these steps: Enter the Bank to which you belong, go to the SETTINGS menu, choose Tax account opening, select the municipality, choose the bank branch, enter the identity card, and confirm the action. After completing these steps, users will receive an SMS with their identity card data, PAN number, account number, and the ID of the operation.
Previous versions of Transfermóvil already included the option to pay Aguas de Varadero and buy packages and plans for clients of Banco de Crédito y Comercio (Bandec), Metropolitano de La Habana (Banmet), and Popular de Ahorro (BPA). Additionally, the MiTransfer Wallet underwent a name change to simply MiTransfer, eliminating the word “Bolsa” from its name. Users can now pay and consult services in Aguas de Varadero through this option.
