The Omicron variant will not let those who have already contracted Covid sleep soundly. The team from Imperial College London analyzed all cases of Covid confirmed by the PCR test in Great Britain between 29 November and 11 December and shows the strong ability of the Omicron variant to evade protection from previous infections or inoculations and spread faster than previous strains. In detail, the study shows that those who have had Covid are only 19% protected from the risk of becoming infected with the Omicron variant. Basically in line with the 20% protection against Omicron for those who have taken two doses of the vaccine. The team from Imperial College London also points out that the third dose makes it possible to block about 55-80% of symptomatic cases.
