Closing in no particular order for the European stock exchanges, while on Wall Street the US indices proceed without any ideas. On Piazza Affari, the Ftse Mib ended up 0.5% at 32,706 points, with purchases on Saipem (+4.3%) before the accounts, STM (+4.25%) and Campari (+2.9% ), the latter after results showing revenues of 2.9 billion euros and dividends increasing by 8.3%. On the other hand, Leonardo declines (-2.35%), which will release its quarterly report in the next few days, and realizations are triggered on Banco Bpm (-1.6%).

Overall, market sentiment remains cautious as we await key inflation data in the coming days. The core PCE, one of the metrics monitored by the Fed for its monetary policy decisions, will be released in the US on Thursday, while on Friday (in addition to the Chinese PMIs) the report on consumer prices in the Eurozone will be published, to be read from an ECB perspective.

Today, in the US, orders for durable goods in January fell more than expected (-6.1%) and the Conference Board’s consumer confidence index unexpectedly collapsed to 106.7 points.

On bonds, the BTP-Bund spread stands at 143 bp, with the yield on the Italian 10-year bond rising to 3.89% and that of the Bund to 2.46%. In Italy, meanwhile, the placement of the BTP Valore continues, with demand still strong on the second day of placement.

Among raw materials, Brent oil once again exceeds 82 dollars a barrel. On Forex the euro/dollar exchange rate is stable at 1.085 and the dollar/yen is trading around 150.5 yen per dollar.
