Investments for 225 million thanks to resources that will be released from the real estate plan as well as from the sale of a share in Rai Way: the tower company of which Rai is a 65% shareholder and of which, therefore, Viale Mazzini will valorise the share exceeding the majority, despite the pressure from Rai Way shareholder funds who asked not to follow up on this idea.

The Rai Board of Directors gave its green light to the 2024-26 Industrial Plan, illustrated by the CEO, Roberto Sergio, and examined and approved the 2024 Budget. The public TV board also gave its approval to the final text of the new Service Contract, shared with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy following the amendments proposed by the Parliamentary Commission for the general direction and supervision of radio and television services. The approved text will now have to be examined by the Council of Ministers, to finally be published in the Official Journal.

«Today marks an extraordinary and historic coincidence» given the approval of the two acts, commented Rai president Marinella Soldi in a note: «Two documents finally in close synergy, to design a more flexible, digital, customer-oriented Rai future”. In the Industrial Plan «the editorial decisions are guided by, on the one hand, the centrality of the data and the knowledge of the user and their needs and, on the other, the public service mission: this is a truly important step for the ‘company» adds the Rai president.

«Courageously face the challenges of digitalisation, guaranteeing the economic stability of the company, enhancing our professional human capital and strengthening the Public Service mission. This is the ambitious objective that places us alongside the major international players, projecting Rai towards the future”, declared Roberto Sergio, CEO of Rai. «Over the next three years we will work to consolidate the centrality of the Company in the Italian audiovisual industry, combining growth and development with the pursuit of social and environmental sustainability objectives, with an approach that can mark a leap in quality and an example at an international level»

«The objective over the next three years will be to transform Rai into a digital media company, increasing competitiveness in the system by touching on vitally important issues such as the digital and environmental transition, the quality of information, the valorisation of Made in Italy industrial supply chains. Today is a positive day which marks the beginning of a transition between the traditional vision of the company and the role of innovation that Rai has been playing for several years”, is the comment of Rai general director Giampaolo Rossi.
