Riello, a company that produces boilers, has announced the closure of the Villanova di Cepagatti plant, in the province of breaking latest news. The company will bring production back to its sites in the North and in Poland.

“Riello spa, of the Carrier global corporation group of companies, has communicated to the trade unions and its representatives the will to close the Villanova di Cepagatti site and the immediate start of the collective dismissal procedure of 71 workers and the transfer of 19 research and development employees in the Lecco and Legnago headquarters », the unitary union representative Fiom Uilm wrote in a note. In August, before closing for holidays, Riello had left 49 temporary workers at home. The trade unions have called for the immediate withdrawal of the procedure.

The company explains through a note that “following a careful analysis of the rapidly evolving market and the competitiveness of our operations, we have decided to interrupt the activities of our breaking latest news plant and to concentrate them at other plants with capacity available in Legnago, Volpago del Montello in Italy, and Torun in Poland. This decision is aimed at optimizing our industrial assets and will help position our company for the future in an increasingly competitive global market. We are aware of the impact of this project on affected employees.
