The hypothesis of an agreement for the reindustrialisation of the former Saga Coffee plant, on the Bolognese Apennines, presented by Tecnostamp Triulzi Group and Minifaber, was signed yesterday and today will be discussed by the workers in uninterrupted garrison for 96 days in front of the Gaggio Montano factory. The two Lombard mechanical companies presented the project of a newco they have participated in with an investment plan of 25 million euros and signed the commitment to reabsorb at least 137 laboratories of the 220 left for a walk last November by the multinational Evoca (vending machine) , which announced that it would relocate production to Romania, only three years after the acquisition of the former Saeco-Gaggia plant.

What does the agreement foresee
The agreement provides for the industrial redevelopment of the site and the subsequent transfer to the newco – which will be constituted by Tecnostamp and Minifaber – of the business unit dedicated to the assembly of professional coffee machines and the processing of sheet metal and powder coating, with the re-employment of at least 137 workers (up to a maximum of 150, if Invitalia actually enters the newco as a partner). For all workers, the extraordinary Cig will start from March for 12 months, to give time to complete the modernization and industrial reconversion interventions: the Gaggio Montano factory, in fact, will expand its business with respect to coffee machines and will take care of processing sheet metal, molding of plastics and composite materials to fit into the trend of the circular economy, in the role of contractor.

In addition to the social safety nets, a daily integration to the Cigs of 20 euros gross and redundancy incentives of up to 85 thousand euros is envisaged (differentiated for retirees and not, with particular protection for part-time workers, since the factory occupies 80% female personnel and is a pillar of the fragile social balance in the Apennines). “Today’s is the best possible deal.
